Hi there! Thanks for visiting my blog! This is Sayan, a student at the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Kolkata. I am currently in my second (last) year of masters, majoring in Statistics. I am broadly interested in mathematical statistics and advanced probability and some pure mathematics topics. As for the time being, I usually write academic topics that cater to my interest. Most of the posts are from some specific areas in probability theory.
I got an opportunity to visit the famous Central Park in New York City in June 2016. During my stay, I clicked the above cover picture of the JKO Reservoir in Central Park.
Contents of the blog:
- Tracy Widom Vague Convergence: Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3.
In August 2016, I gave a lecture series on the vague convergence of Tracy-Widom Law. The above links are the corresponding lecture notes.
- Stable Distributions: Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3.
In April 2017, I presented Stable distributions. The above are corresponding notes. In this notes, Stable distributions are introduced in a lucid manner, so that any inspiring undergraduate probability student can understand. Things that are too rigourous are deliberately skipped.
- Chen Stein Method in Erdos Renyi Random Graphs: Not posted yet! I will finish it certainly by July 2017!
Since this an academic blog written by a student, the posts will be not so frequent, maybe one or two times per 3 months.
Happy reading!
